Membership

Change The World Kids is a welcoming environment where anyone can participate and help the community.

We have two chapters. The original group is based in Woodstock, Vermont and became a non-profit organization in 2003 after the beginning seeds were planted by twelve year old twins and their friends that volunteered in the community helping neighbors with odd job. Our second chapter called Youth Empowerment and Action is based in South Royalton, Vermont and was established in 2021. You do not need to live in these towns to become a member of either group.

Both chapters meet on a weekly basis and work on projects related to Community Service, Environmental Stewardship, Food and Social Justice issues. All members are required to attend at least two meetings a month and complete two jobs a month.

Our Mission

No One Can Do Everything, But Everyone Can Do Something!

  • The Change the World Kids are dedicated to making the world a better place by working without charge to help individuals in our community and organizations and environments all over the world.

  • We believe in Gandhi’s statement, “Be the change you wish to see in the world” so we contribute to that vision by building a more just, equitable and sustainable world.

  • Food Justice remains one of our most important areas of focus, especially since the Covid-19 pandemic has led to a rise in food insecurity, increasing from 1 in every 6 Vermonters, to 1 in every 3. We grow thousands of pounds of produce for the local food shelf every year!
